The 'dugong' because it's big, cuddly-looking though we know it's not practical to cuddle it, and graceful in it's element.

no leash on reef

Had to instal a leash plug, 'cause this lovely log is moving to an island of reef breaks waaay off shore, with toothy swimmers galore. It seems like the board is gonna like it here tho...

Look at this lovely piece of creamy goodness. Off-white with accents of blue, it is like a giant bit of ripe blue cheese. It stinks so good. 9'5" fromage frother. If you're in the french pacific you're in the running to own this log.

-a travel warning: Qantas has slipped in a shifty new baggage allowance; 23 kilos, and one bag only. (unless you're traveling to or from america, i guess fat consumer americans need lots of baggage, like they're allowed two seats if their ass is too fat.) If you are traveling with two boardbags containing almost 50 kilos of fiberglass and foam logs like me, you may find yourself at the airport being told your excess comes to $700. Luckily i was so hung-over and pitiful looking they felt sorry for me and let me through on the sly. (other airlines to avoid: Delta (US) $500 per boardbag, British Airways (UK) no boardbags, Jetstar (Int) no longboards.)

Stacked

boards are stacking up like pancakes. we got a sick pin-twin for chris, green keel killer for kieren, and yellow/black striped bumblebee of a longboard for giles. hold your balls boys, they're coming. also in the finishing stages; a yellow-nosed single stinger, a cream classic pin-stripped longboard, and a bubble-butt quad. the intent is to ride them, but if you're interested contact soon. alternatively wait till we get some fun out of them, and buy them used. can't guarantee we'll want to let them go then tho...

back in biz

Yeah, it's been a few days but WAXA surfboards has been busy. We took some time off to explore down the road less traveled. And we scored. Lost the boards on the rocks a few times too.

Custom slick fish mid-way through the glassing. Its got that strange sort of appeal like when you blow your nose and look in the tissue. You think: "hmm, dunno why, but that's rad. should i show someone? or just restrain..."

Byron Bay

Late afternoon on the business trip. Day 3, or 4? Epicness blends when continuous, but never gets monotonous... I could groove on this forever.

The tools of the trade for the groovyness: Waxa logs, 2+1s and fishes.

5'10" beach life 2+1. Diamond tail, flat bottom, freaking speed demon. Yellow and blue spray and sponge paint...

Displace

Pink and blue beauty. A displacement hull for fans of the action, all 8' of it. We took the thing on a bit of a business trip to the bountiful Byron bay, and put it to good use surfing damn good 2-3 ft Pass.

To quote Joel Tudor (in Siestas & Olas) "Man every wave is like a door man, and man finding the right board is the key man." at least I think he said something like that. It's been awhile since I saw the flick and I was drunk at the time. Anyway these boards are the key to clean pealing waist-high waves. Man.
